On 7th of July 2017, our group which consists of 4 members who are Azrie Nazirul , Muhammad Syafi'ie Idris, Nurul Zahirah, and Haifa Elfian visited to this one of the logistic company, Nespalm located at Pasir Gudang.

NESPALM COMPANY

Nespalm Logistics (M) Sdn. Bhd. is a small organization in the freight transportation arrangement companies industry located in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. It opened its doors in 2009 and now has $1 million in yearly revenue and approximately 20 employees.

NESPALM LOGISTICS (M) SDN BHD HAD ALREADY OPERATED IN PASIR GUDANG FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS. THIS COMPANY IS ONE OF THE TRUSTED COMPANY IN PROVIDING TRANSPORTATION SERVICES. THE COMPANY USUALLY OPERATED AT JOHOR BAHRU PORT AND ALSO PORT TANJUNG PELEPAS(PTP).

TRANSPORTATION

• At the time being, the company have about 100 trailers and still looking forward to increase its quantity from time to time.

• The company also have 24 prime mover truck and 15 recon truck

• When the goods needs to be import, the operation team will send some transportation at the port to take the goods and send it directly to the place that have been stated in the order.

• For the export process ,  the operation team will take the goods from the origin point and send the goods to the port and preparing for shipping.

• Consistency in maintaining the transport's condition is important in making sure the efficiency of the transportation (to avoid any fault) throughout the work process.

• The drivers are the main key to ensure all of the services become efficient because the drivers need to deliver the goods at the right time and right place like the customer's orders.

• So, the operation team will guide the drivers and prepare their schedule to achieve the best results in providing services to their customer.

EMPLOYEE

Nespalm Logistics (M) Sdn. Bhd. employs 20 employees. In Pasir Gudang, an average company has between 37 and 258 employees, which concludes that Nespalm Logistics (M) Sdn. Bhd. is one of the smallest amount of employers in the area. 

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AND WAREHOUSING

Nespalm Logistic Company is one of the company which provides integrated service provider(ISP).

The company does not owned any warehouse because the company act as the third party which only provides the transport services and do not produce any product.

Therefore, for their inventory, the company will bought spare parts for their transport and also fuels to maintain their service and avoiding any delay.

The company have a depot that uses to store all the lorries that are not in service. The depot also function as a place to upgrade the maintenance for their transport.

STRATEGIES AND PLANNING

Time management is one of the most important element in this company. The operation team have a systematic strategies for each and every task, so that all processes can be done smoothly and efficiently.

The main strategies are when the operation team and the management team worked together and help each other to complete their work. This strategy will increase the company's profit.

For future planning, of course the company are hoping for the best to spread the wings of their company as they are taking steps to increase their efficiency in work (eg: more trailers and employees). 

Their vision is to be one of the prestige and well-known logistic company in Malaysia soon. 

The company always treat their customers right. Therefore, they always have some regular customer which fall in love with their business. Regular customers will get a special price unlike the other customers. This is to assure the customers will still choose the company as their first choice to get some services.

1. WHEN THE MANAGEMENT TEAM RECEIVED AN ORDER , THE MANAGEMENT TEAM WILL SUBMIT IT  INTO THE SYSTEM.
2. FROM HERE, THE OPERATION TEAM WILL MAKE AN ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE DRIVER AND ALSO TRANSPORTATION TO COMPLETE THE ORDER.
3. IF THE ORDER WAS MADE BELOW 12 HOURS,  MANAGEMENT TEAM WILL NOT TAKE THE RISK  BY DIRECTLY ACCEPTED THE ORDER, BUT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM WILL ASK THE OPERATION TEAM TO CHECK THE AVAILABILITY OF THE TRANSPORTATION AND ALSO THE DRIVER.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN THE COMPANY

Track & Trace System   

• To be informed about the current location of the product so that the operation team and the customer will be aware about the product's whereabouts.
• To ensure the product will be sent at the right place and at the right time.
